NOT QUITE

you knights.
your might.
unite.
ignite.
the night.
with light.
we fight.
their plight.
not right.
not black.
not white.
not quite.

how it goes

so ash and i had a big adventure around perth planned for yesterday but the weather didn't really come to play. coupled with ashleigh having to work in the morning last minute we were restricted a little so we just hit up kings park for a walk and a look around. it's a great place to spend the afternoon. some great views and some intersting things to read/look at/do/etc. good times all round.

highlight of the day?

this little sequence...

and the lesson. don't fuck with the ducks. quack quack quack quack QUACK!

another boring story

it's a Friday morning. warm. the fan oscillates in the corner of the room. the washing machine is on. cleaning my work clothes. is this all my life has become? an endless cycle of work, weekend, work, weekend... a little.

i enjoy my weekends. they are the reason i go to work everyday. if i could afford to spend everyday like it was a Saturday then i wouldn't be plotting graphs in excel on a Tuesday or drawing flowsheets in visio on a Friday. but that's how it goes hey...

i don't know where this is at all going. ash is asleep and i'm bored so i'm just rambling on hoping that something genius springs from my mind and into my fingers. then someone reads it and gives me lots of money to bullshit about life etc. not gunna happen.

i'm not really sure what i want from this blog. i've considered just rambling bits and pieces here as a good option for now. i'm going on an adventure tomorrow so maybe i'll write about that... if you're lucky you may get a picture.

then the next weekend i'll be seeing Pearl Jam play. i'm not a huge fan. i appreciate a song here and there. the new album is really catchy though. ash is a huge fan. we will be front and centre up against the railing. this will be an odd feeling for me. being in such a prime position for a band that i am not totally in to.

anyways. i'm running out of boring things to say. wow. that's pretty bad.

thought for the week:
what's the point in making a living, if you're never gunna live?

have a box of kleenex

so it's been a while. oh well, deal with it my five (wow, who are the three people i don't know!?!?!) avid followers!
not much is new.
i've been pretty bummed at work of late. 9 hour days in a cubicle with no one that i really enjoy having a conversation with. it's hard being left of the norm in an office full of predictable boring people. it's not that i don't like work, the rush of a new project or a deadline gets the blood pumping. but the monotone day to day stuff just to pay the bills gets a bit boring. and the people are just so hard to deal with...
thank god for bands like polar bear club, no trigger, strike anywhere, the lawrence arms and the like who have been getting me through the days. and a certain blog of course (not mine!) that keeps me entertained (it's about bad sandwiches) and enthralled. the forum that spawned from said blog keeps me chuckling too so that's a great bonus.
the GFC (not that aussie rules team, the "financial crisis") is getting me down a bit as well. watching people slowly leave the company because there's not enough work keeps my head thinking of so many scenarios that could unfold... i think i've made my self pretty useful and such shouldn't have that much to worry about but it's still there in the back of my head...

anyways back to actual work at work. love you guys.

p.s
i've been reading heaps lately. read tim winton if you haven't before. anything by tim winton. that guy is fricken awesome. seriously awesome. my recommendation is cloudstreet, but anything you can find really!

It's my birthday...

Today is my birthday. And you all know what that means... well probably not actually but anyways... Today is all about me!

I’ve been alive for 8401 days. Haha, maths is awesome…

It is the 146th day of the year, which leaves 219 days remaining until the years end.

On my birthday in 1986 9the year of my birth) the European community adopted the European flag. You know the one with the yellow stars in a circle on a blue backing. How’s that for trivia!? (thank you Wikipedia!)

I share my birthday with John Wayne (1907), Lenny Kravitz (1964) and Luca Toni (1977)… all great in their own right. So all in all I’m pretty much a cowboy that rocks and loves his football.

Word to ya mutha!

it comes to an end

I don’t play for Australia anymore.
So instead of having this conversation with everyone I’m just gunna put a brief explanation up here and if you want to know about it you will read it, if you ask about it you will be redirected here. That’s all.

So I went to Darwin for the Arafura games where a 4 team tournament with England, Japan, Korea and us (Australia) was on. International classifiers came in with some new rules that had been approved after Beijing (on a side note Beijing is an awesome word with three dots in a row!) for international CP (cerebral palsy) football. These classifiers looked at all players and everyone was reclassified. I was currently an ‘8’, the most able players still within the rules and able to participate. With the new rules I was classified out as I did not show all the signs they now require for inclusion. Sucks to be me but it’s probably, in the long run, a lot better for the sport.

I am not bitter about this. Yeh, I was very down for a while but that’s life right? I’ve had a good run, been to places and done things I never would have otherwise. I’ve made some great friends for life and overall am still happy about the experience. In the long run I will still follow the team and watch closely and be involved whenever/where ever I can and try to advance the sport in WA also.

So yeh. That’s it. Love you kids.

Peace

fridays

that's where it's at!
so no work today for me. so i've been for a surf... good times. not super awesome. but pretty fun. and done two loads of washing. always good to get that outa the way before the weekend. plus i've had a snack. om nom nom. and i'm writing ths blog while watching my fourth episode of stargate for the day. stargate is awesome. i don't care what you think! haha

anyways... today a list of tv shows that are cool (in a nerdy kind of way) and should be watched over and over...

JAG - the female lead in that show was one of my first celeb crushes. haha
Stargate - it's awesome and it has so many MacGuyver references. awesome... one of my favourite lines "maybe i can MacGuyver it in some way" or something to that effect anyways.
on that note MacGuyver - seriously. lets make a bomb from tooth paste and vinegar with a paperclip and a balloon!
Dr Quinn - Medicine Woman... i love the whole lets rip of dances with wolves kinda thing... plus cowboys and indians are awesome
Blue Heelers - before it went shit...
Babar - awesome tv show about an elephant etc...

that's a good start... but i gues we'll cover some more another day.

until next time... ttfn

exactly what i wanted/needed.

so i just got the new nofx album on my lunch break. i'm spinning it right now. it's still fat mike making stupid jokes about boozing followed by some basic, under thought, over inteligent rant, with the same sound. it's the same as pretty much everything that nofx have and ever will be. this makes me smile. why? i hear you ask... well this is why. everything is changing and sometiems i'm scared shitless by it. why can't it all stay the same. don't get me wrong, i love my life and how it changes and ebbs and flows (wow that's great (but not all that original) use of the word ebb right there) and i wouldn't swap that life for the world. but sometimes things need to stay the same. thanks nofx for giving no effort to change or be any different. you make me smile. also. i like nofx for what they do. so if the record was really different i probably wouldn't want it anymore.

dun dun dun.... i think i have a new topic for some blogs. reviews. of albums (new or old) and books (new or old) and people (new or old) etc etc etc (new or old)
